One of Australia’s preeminent broadcast specialists, Chris has been at the helm of historic large-scale international sports and entertainment broadcasts, both in the Director’s chair and in management.
Chris has continuously set new broadcast standards through his roles as head of production for Seven’s coverage of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, senior producer of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, multi-feeds director of FIFA World Cups Russia 2018 and Qatar 2022, as well as head of production for the 2015 AFC Asian Cup Australia and 2015 Netball World Cup.
Over the past 30 years Chris has led and grown some of this country’s leading production companies working on all genres of production from: sport, entertainment, reality TV, lifestyle, travel, panel shows and much, much more. Harnessing this experience Chris has brought this expertise to Surge where he gets to work with co-founders Rick and Shane in doing it the way it should be done.

Rick’s innate understanding of the audience and unrivalled ability to get the most out of on-screen talent has seen him deliver impactful live programming globally.
Respected industry-wide, Rick’s reputation has been built through leading production and content roles for some of Australia’s biggest events in sport and entertainment, these include: producer of the Good Friday Appeal 2025, Mushroom 50 Live, 2024 Paris and 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, the Tour Down Under, 2015 AFC Asian Cup, Fox Footy’s AFL, and numerous other large-scale events.
It is Rick’s story-telling ability, whether that be through live broadcasts or pre-produced content, that puts him at the top of his craft and able to get the best result for the client time and time again.

Award-winning creative director, Shane’s meticulous craft and ability to deliver high-end content on tight deadlines has made him a sought-after talent across entertainment, corporate, sport and lifestyle.
An illustrious career including 20 years working at the Seven Network, Shane’s leadership in content creation is universally admired and has seen him shape some of our nation’s most iconic broadcasts including the Good Friday Appeal, Mushroom 50 Live, as well as his award-winning post-production work as Head of Content for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics, and the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.
With a can-do attitude and unbreakable energy Shane is the perfect man to direct on location and then lead the team through the post-production phase to bring your vision to life.

Sophie joined Surge with over 25 years in sales and client relationship roles. Always seeking new opportunities and solutions for her clients, Sophie has held National Sales Director roles in the Healthcare, Agricultural and Media sectors.
Renowned for her tenacious yet friendly approach Sophie is passionate about exceeding her client’s expectations, whilst growing the Surge brand through new opportunities.

With a distinguished career spanning over 15 years, which includes working in the marketing and digital teams for leading corporations Ernst & Young and Cotton On before embarking on a successful freelance journey.
